Kevin Finn, 70, passed away on August 22, 2025 in Casper, Wyoming. The city where he was born on June 19, 1955. His life was a testament to dedication, adventure, and heartfelt generosity – a man whose presence left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

A proud graduate of NCHS, Kevin began his working life with Ray Clapp masonry as a hod carrier before moving on to work at Smith trailer sales. However, it was with the Natrona County Fire District that Kevin found his true calling. Over the years, he served with distinction as a firefighter, engineer, captain, and ultimately chief. His leadership and commitment to public service earned him deep respect within the community and among his peers, he also served on many state boards and helped elevate, fire protection skills, and education throughout the state.

Kevin‘s talent extended far beyond his professional life. As a gifted woodworker, he created beautiful pieces for his family and loved ones – each one crafted with care and pride. He had a deep love for the outdoors and cherished his hunting trips in the Wyoming mountains with his family members. One of his proudest accomplishments was crafting his own long bow and using it to hunt a bull elk- an achievement that spoke to both his skill and determination.

An accomplished marksman, Kevin won numerous awards in trap shooting competitions across Wyoming. He also dedicated time to teaching gun safety to high school students sharing not only his knowledge but his passion and responsible firearm use.

Among his pursuits cycling held a special place in Kevin‘s heart just days before his passing. He completed an astonishing 4750 miles in five months. In 2023, he reached a personal milestone by riding 10,000 miles in a single year – a feat that exemplified his perseverance and love for the open road.

Kevin also brought joy too many during his time as a bar back at the Moose Lodge in Yuma Arizona, where he enjoyed his winter months. Patrons were drawn to his infectious smile and boundless enthusiasm, qualities that made him beloved wherever he went.

He is lovingly remembered by his brothers and sisters; Patrick and Patti, Dennis, Brian and Nikki Finn, his son, Justin Kelly, and many nieces and nephews who will carry forward memories of their uncles warmth and humor.

Known affectionately by many names – Raul the pool boy, chief, Skippy, and heavy Kevy – Kevin was kind hearted, outgoing, caring, generous, and always ready with a laugh. He touched countless lives through both grand gesture and quiet kindness.

A memorial service honoring Kevin‘s life will be held in Casper May Kevin Finn‘s memory, bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to share his remarkable journey.
