Kevin M. Foley, 62, of Monmouth Beach, NJ passed away on Tuesday, February 11th, 2025, in Scotch Plains, NJ at the Center for Hope Hospice. Kevin fought a courageous battle against cancer for the last six months and was surrounded by loving family when he passed. Kevin was born in the Bronx, NY May 14, 1962 and moved to Dumont, NJ with his family in 1969.
Kevin attended St. Mary's grammar school and Dumont High School, where he played on the Dumont Huskies Basketball team. He attended Seton Hall University in South Orange and was always a huge Pirate basketball fan holding season tickets for many years. GO PIRATES!!! Kevin received his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Kevin worked in various sales roles for Sunkist Growers and ADT security. Kevin and a friend started their own commercial equipment leasing company and worked for many years building the business. He so enjoyed owning his own business that he purchased a CertaPro Painters franchise in New Jersey. The business has been operating successfully for twenty years with satisfied residential and commercial customers in the NJ area. The offices are located in Mountainside, NJ where Kevin and his family resided for over twenty years before moving to Monmouth Beach, NJ in May 2020.
Kevin and his wife Patrice raised their two children in Mountainside and Kevin was very involved in the community through Alex and Chris's sports. Kevin coached Mountainside Recreation Basketball and also helped coach Mountainside Youth baseball. He was very involved with helping coach Alex's travel softball teams. He was known as a patient and encouraging coach by both the children and other coaches. He also loved attending all of Alex and Chris's sporting events through middle school and high school.
Through school, business, sports and just being an outgoing fun person Kevin has made many friends over the years. He was seen as a brother, mentor, great friend and an inspiration. He loved parties (always the last to leave!) dancing, listening to bands and just chatting with anyone he met. He loved playing golf with friends and in various leagues and a vacation always included a day or two at the golf course making new friends. When he moved to Monmouth Beach, he took up cycling, riding his bike twenty miles to Sandy Hook and back. He loved sitting at the beach, as long as he had his umbrella and his big hat, and enjoyed swimming in the ocean and pool. He was an expert in booking Marriot Vacation club and Bonvoy points, planning vacations months in advance. He and his wife Patrice enjoyed many cruises and vacations to Alaska, Hawaii, Spain, Florida, and Hilton Head.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patrice; children Chris and Alex; parents Josephine and Jack Foley; mother-in-law Bernice Rohrs, brother John Foley and wife Tracey, and nieces Caitlin, Megan and Kara, sisters-in-law Michele Rohrs, Donna Rohrs and wife Sue.
Visitation will be at Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Ave. Fanwood from 4pm to 8pm on Tuesday, February 18th, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 1571 Martine Ave, Scotch Plains at 10am on Wednesday, February 19th, 2025.
