Kevin R. Hansen,
Milw – Kevin Hansen born June 25, 1951, to the late Roger and Betty (Staring) Hansen, passed away on July 22, 2024, at the age of 73yrs after a long tough battle with cancer. Kevin is survived by his beloved wife of 33yrs, Ann (Noll); devoted father to Steve (Teri), Kevin (Meghan), Joe (Maranda) and Katie, a proud grandfather of Jazmine, Tristan, Jack and Will, and a loving brother of Mark (Carm) and his late sister Beth. Kevin will also be deeply missed by many other relatives and friends.
Kevin was born and raised in Milwaukee. After he graduated from Custer High School, he took a 2yr apprenticeship with ABCO Building, as a carpenter. He then went on to work for Techline Furniture and MPS in the Facility and Maintenance Department, which he retired from. He loved being a carpenter, it was his passion. In his 55yrs of carpentry, Kevin has left behind his artistry in so many private and commercial buildings. He enjoyed making something out of nothing. He was so good at his craft that other people constantly appreciated and praised his talent. He never said "No" to anyone who needed something built, remodeled or fixed and if he didn't know how to do something, he would figure it out. He was never ashamed to learn how or ask for help if needed. He really did it all.
In his down time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf and snowmobiling. He really loved watching all sports, especially football, basketball, baseball, hockey, and golf. He also enjoyed going to high school and college football games. His favorite place to vacation was in the north woods of Wisconsin. It was a place where he could decompress and enjoy all the quiet and all the nature.
Kevin was a people person. He liked meeting and talking to other people, learning about them and their story, as well as sharing his knowledge and experience with them. He has met so many people in his life, some of which have become lifelong friends. It was this gift and his talent that brought him his greatest side job, which was volunteering for the Trinity Academy of Irish Dance School. When our daughter started dancing, they were looking for help to build their 1st own dance studio in Milwaukee. Little did he know that his volunteering would last at least 13yrs, and he loved every moment of it. It started out with the studio and led to refurbishing their float for the St. Patrick's Day parade and building stages for their dance competitions and everything and anything in between. Kevin did whatever Trinity needed, because in the end it helped the families, but most of all the dancers. That was the most important thing to Kevin.
The family would like to thank and extend their heartfelt gratitude to Angels Grace Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Kevin's final days, as well as countless other caregivers for their unwavering care along his journey at the Froedtert Cancer Center both in Milwaukee and Menomonee Falls.
Visitation is on Sunday, August 11, from 1:00pm until the memorial service at 3:00pm at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1875 N. Calhoun Rd. Brookfield. His Celebration of Life will be at a later date.
