Obituary
Kevin P. Kareis, of Chalfant, age 65, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.
Born the son of the late Hugo P. Kareis and the late Barbara (Oblich) Kareis. He was the beloved brother of Richard (Barbara) Kareis of Augusta, GA, Judith (the late Dr. Michael) Painter of Mt. Washington, Maureen (Thomas) Horner of Mission Viejo, CA, Cheryl (David) Nixon of Point Breeze, Brian Kareis of Pleasant Garden, NC, and Lynne (Dale) Gensamer of Ross Twp. He was predeceased by his sisters, Barbara Haggerty, Marilyn Wolf, Eileen Amelio, and Dorothy Kareis. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many other loving family members.
Kevin's family was a significant part of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Kevin was a man of many interests. He was exceptionally social and outgoing. His infectious laughter and great sense of humor were his trademarks, making him a favorite among his family and friends. Kevin was an avid bingo player and later in life was a devoted fan of wrestling, watching matches with great enthusiasm. Listening to oldies music was another of Kevin's passions. Kevin treasured the memories of traveling throughout the country to visit his siblings.
Kevin's faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ, and his faith-filled life was an inspiration to those around him. Throughout Kevin's life, he was active with several churches around Pittsburgh, all of whom he held close to his heart.
His memory will forever be etched in the hearts of his loved ones, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11:30 am in St. Maurice Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.
Kevin will be laid to rest in Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
