Kevin O'Neil Obituary

Visit the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home website to view the full obituary.
Kevin O'Neil, 68, of Warwick, passed away on November 13, 2025, at Kent Hospital. Born in Warwick, he was the son of the late William and Margaret "Peg" (Riley) O'Neil and a lifelong Rhode Islander. He graduated from Pilgrim High School and later worked for many years as a dedicated machine operator until his retirement.

A man of many talents, Kevin found joy in creativity and adventure throughout his life. A gifted bass player, he spent years performing with his band, sharing his love of music with those around him. He also worked in the art department at Paramount Greeting Cards, where his exceptional ability to freehand detailed sketches was admired and treasured by many. Outside the arts, Kevin embraced the ocean-spending much of his younger years diving and spearfishing. He also had a deep love for the outdoors and could often be found camping, hiking, sailing, or canoeing.

Kevin was known for his quiet strength, sharp wit, and the dry humor that often arrived when least expected. Though naturally reserved, he loved deeply, and when he cared for you, you felt it without question. Family was his greatest joy. His 48-year marriage to his wife, Paula, was a true testament to partnership and enduring love. His son, Ian, his only child, was the center of his world and a source of immense pride. To his granddaughters, Madison and Nora, he was the beloved "Pop."

Kevin is survived by his wife, Paula (Beadles) O'Neil; his son, Ian W. O'Neil and his wife Jennifer of Warwick; his brother, Daniel O'Neil and his wife Tomasina of McGregor, TX and two grandchildren, Madison and Nora O'Neil, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was the brother of the late Margaret "Peggy" Beaulieu and her husband Raymond of Warwick.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. in the Barrett and Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, RI, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, 350 Fair Street, Warwick, RI. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kevin's name can be made to the Rhode Island SPCA, 155 Plan Way Warwick, RI 02886 or the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, 200 Niantic Avenue, Providence RI 02907.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
