Patricia Joan D'Abrosca

Patricia Joan D'Abrosca (Paola), 73, of Warwick, RI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8th surrounded by her loving daughters, Jessica D'Abrosca O'Connor and Meghan D'Abrosca Emery. A Pilgrim High School alum, her parents are the late Jasper and Beverly (Binns) Paola. She is survived by her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, a grandson and a granddaughter, in addition to her loving and loyal sons-in-law, Micah Emery and Gary O'Connor, and father of her daughters, John D'Abrosca.
Patricia was an avid baker, sun & ocean lover, musician & vocalist, accomplished violinist & classical guitar player. She loved art, culture and athletic pursuits, passing on a shared love of painting, drawing, singing, dancing and throwing handstands or cartwheels on a whim with her daughters and grandchildren. Patricia spent her career as a nurse, caring for patients in hospitals, private practice, elementary schools and finishing her career in assisted living/skilled nursing care. She volunteered in the late 1980's early 1990's for the Women's Resource Center of RI, serving as an advocate for women and children who were victims of domestic abuse. She served with passion, patience, care and empathy.
Besides her two daughters, Patricia is also survived by her siblings: sister, Karen Manchester (Paola) and brother-in-law Dan Manchester, brother, William "Billy" Paola and sister-in-law Doreen Paola (Bathgate), sister, Mary-Margaret Curti (Paola) and predeceased by brother, "Jackie" Paola.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 23rd from 12-3 pm at Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, RI 02879.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations be considered to The Miriam Hospital and Hope Hospice,The Hulitar Center; in memoriam of Patricia. Her daughters wish to thank these two entities for their unyielding care, respect and calm while caring for their mother.
