Kevin O'Brien Obituary
Kevin M. O'Brien, lovingly known to many as HK, "Handsome Kevin," of Bridgewater and West Yarmouth, passed away on July 4, 2022, after complications from a fall. In his final days and minutes, he was surrounded by love.
Kevin was a caretaker to all and had a personality and heart that were larger than life. He was a United States Air Force Veteran who served as a Sgt. during the Vietnam era. Throughout his life, Kevin worked as a self-proclaimed "Transportation Specialist", first as a truck driver, then as a correctional officer, and in his retirement, for A&A Metro, making hundreds of new friends on his many trips to and from Logan Airport. A proud Irishman and devout Catholic, Kevin was a Communicant at Chapel of Mary at Stonehill College. Kevin enjoyed Teamsters local 653 breakfasts, taking rides in his truck, (especially to the dump and for coffee), and sharing a joke or one of his many "Kevin-isms." He will be remembered for his social nature, his unique sense of humor and his loving personality. Kevin will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him, especially his granddaughters, whom he doted on.
Kev was the beloved husband of 48 years to Suzanne "Sue" (Clark) O'Brien. Loving father of Christopher O'Brien and his wife Kelly of West Yarmouth and Shannon Bechard and her husband Matthew of Sandwich. Devoted "Guy" to Sophia O'Brien Bechard and Delaney Cecelia Bechard both of Sandwich. Son of the late William J. and Isabelle M. O'Brien. Caring brother of Mark O'Brien and his wife Mary of Mansfield and the late Thomas O'Brien (Marguerite). Extraordinary brother-in-law to Rory Clark Slye, whom he loved dearly. Cherished uncle of Christine Coleman, William O'Brien, Martha O'Brien, Timothy O'Brien, Bernard O'Brien and Brian Slye.
Our family would like to thank the staff at Cape Cod Hospital for their loving care over the last week, most especially Nurses Mark and Ashley.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, July 10, 2022 from 2-5 PM in the Chapman Funeral Home, BRIDGEWATER. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at Holy Cross Church in Easton at 10 AM. A burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery Bourne will be on Tuesday at 10:45 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to My Brother's Keeper or Vietnam Veterans of America.

I´ve known Kevin since our days at St. Mary´s School in Stoughton where we were blessed under the guidance of St. Joseph´s. It was the best of times. They gave us a strong foundation in faith and family. Will never forget his booming laugh.

I did not know Kevin except through the praise he recieved from his sister-in-law, Rory Slye. She always spoke very highly of him. He held a special place in her heart. I know she considered him more like a brother than a brother-in-law. He always made sure that she was taken care of.
My thoughts and prayers are with Rory and all of Kevin's family.
