Kevin William Pfister, aged 64, passed away unexpectedly November 16th, 2024. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Hugo and Jo Kletzien of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, his children, Jennifer (Devron) VonGunden, Julie Pfister, Sean Pfister (Kaitlynn), Mason Pfister, Robert Pennington, and Lee Pennington. He so loved his grandchildren, Emma, Caden, Sophia, Parker, Evan and Jackson, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephew, Israel, Haddesah and Shem. He is missed by his people-eating German Shepherd, Karma.
Kevin was deeply loved by his family, and he has left a deep hole of loss. He always had something to say whether you wanted to hear it or not. He was so smart and knew so much about any topic that he was more than willing to share. He held numerous college degrees.
Kevin was a retired US Army Master Sargeant. He had a stellar career and was a much-recognized Non-Commissioned Officer. He served as a drill sergeant, Fort Leonard Wood, 19th Special Forces Group-Airborne, NATO 84th engineer group and trained and served SE Asia, Germany, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. He was a dedicated combat engineer. He served in the Gulf War, Battle of 73 easting. He was awarded a Bronze Star for his actions, the fourth highest combat heroism award. He was also awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, seven Army commendation medals, and five Army Achievement medals during his 20-year career. He was inducted to "Order of the Spur" as well. He rarely spoke of these achievements.

Visitation for Kevin will be at the Fausett Family Funeral Home in Manistique on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye to a husband, father, friend, and hero. He will be missed.
