Kevin D. Trew

Kevin Dentford Trew, 35, a life-long resident of Polk County, departed this life on April 26, 2023, at the family residence.
He was born on November 21, 1987, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Michael D. and Shelia Watson Trew.
Kevin was a 2006 graduate of Polk County High School, where he was a three-year starter for the Polk County Wildcats. He represented Polk County in the Tennessee/Georgia All-Star Game and was an avid sports fan. A true Vol for Life, he passionately followed the Volunteers on the basketball court, and the football and baseball fields.
A graduate from the Cleveland State Community College School of Nursing in 2011, he received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2016. Later, Kevin became the Charge Nurse in the Emergency Department at Rhea Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mary Lou McDonald Watson Franks, and paternal grandparents, Rev. Oras and Ollie Rogers Trew.
Left to cherish the many memories include his beloved children, Kaden Alexander Trew, Addisyn Leigh Trew, and Ashtyn Kimber Trew; his loving parents, Michael D. and Shelia Trew; brother, M. "Nick" Trew; and maternal grandfather, Jimmie Watson. Numerous extended work and family members also survive, especially his friends at Rhea Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 2023, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Pastor Jimmy Parm and Reverend Keith Greer officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Benton Memorial Gardens, with Cory Biggs, Kevin Hamby, Seth Beard, Tyler Beard, Cody Dillingham, and Anthony Eaves serving as pallbearers.
Family and friends will gather from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
