Kimberly Gochenauer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc. - West York on Feb. 2, 2024.
Kimberly E. (Eimerbrink) Gochenauer, 62, of York, passed away peacefully into the open arms of our mother and brother on Monday January 29, 2024 at UPMC Hospital in York after a lengthy struggle with diabetes. She was the devoted wife of Steven Gochenauer.
Kim was born on January 30, 1961 at York Hospital. Kim was the daughter of John C.F. Eimerbrink, Jr. and the late Diane E. Eimerbrink.
After our mother passed away in September of 2003, Kim gladly took over the matriarchal responsibilities for her 2 younger siblings. While she was healthy, she enjoyed hosting holidays at her home. She tried to make Christmas special for her younger brother and sister and she always went above and beyond her responsibility to achieve that. We always left her house with containers filled with food and desserts to enjoy. We truly appreciated that.
Her true passion was her Persian cats, you see, Kim was a cat lover, but she loved all animals. She once adopted an older, sickly Persian cat from a rescue because she wanted him to have a family when he passed away. Her 2 Persian cats, Tanner and Grayson will miss her deeply.
Kim is survived by her sister, Joette "Jo" Eimerbrink, mother in-law, MaryEllen Gochenauer, her 2 sister in-laws Jane Peifer and Elaine Sanchez. Her 2 step sons, Eric (Deann) Gochenauer and Neal (Amanda) Gochenauer and 3 step grandchildren. She is survived by her niece Ashton Eimerbrink and 3 great nephews.
Kim was the big sis to the late John C.F. Eimerbrink, III whom passed away on October 14,2023. We hope that they are eating pizza and waiting on us to be with them.
A special thanks to the nurses and staff at UPMC Hospital in York, Kim appreciated their kindness and care that they provided for her during her multiple stays there.
A memorial service will held be on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home, 2114 W. Market St. York, PA. 17404. A visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. with a service to follow promptly at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Larry A. McConnell will officiate the service.
Memorial contributions can be made to the York County SPCA, 3159 N Susquehanna Trail, York, PA. 17406.
