Lafayette, LA - A Home-going celebration for Army Sergeant Kimberly E. Lyons, 63, will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 11:00 A.M at Progressive Baptist Church (2001 E. Simcoe Street) with Minister Warren Phillips, Officiating.
A visitation will be held at Progressive Baptist Church in Saturday, July 20, 2024, beginning at 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
She will wait the resurrection at Progressive Baptist Church Cemetery (Raine Drive) in Lafayette, LA following the service.
Army Sergeant Lyons was a resident of Lafayette, LA. She transitioned at 9:35 P.M. on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, LA.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son: Triston Lyons of Lafayette, LA; seven sisters: Rosalyn L. Lyons of New Iberia, LA, Marjorie N. Lyons, LaJuana M. Lyons, and Jacquelyn M. Lyons all of Dallas, TX, Gwendolyn Brown, Dianne Martin and Jackie Martin all of Jeanerette, LA; three brothers: Cleveland R. Lyons of Dallas, TX, Larry Martin of Jeanerette, LA and Bobby Martin of New Iberia, LA; one grandson: Kayston Sereal; three aunts: Peggy Hamilton, Jeanette Moore, and Shirley Dugas all of Jeanerette, LA as well as a host of other relatives, church family, and friends.
The family would also like to acknowledge her two best friends, Anita Coleman of Jeanerette, LA and Gereldine Andres of St. Croix Island, U.S. Virgin Islands.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Frederick C Lyons and Betty Joseph Lyons; two brothers: Kirk Lyons and Kerry Lyons; and one sister: Pamela D. Lyons.
Active pallbearers are Jarius Mitchell, Quan Lyons, Sr., WyJerell Lyons, Terrance Mitchell, Donald Ray Mitchell, and Charles Dapermont.
Honorary Pallbearers are Cleveland Lyons, Carnell Charles, Clifton Grant, Earl Ray Paul, Evan Proctor, Quan Lyons, Jr., along with members of Progressive Baptist Church
