Kimberly Lynne Penrod

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kimberly Lynne Penrod, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us on November 2, 2024, at the age of 60. Born on March 5, 1964, in Alexandria, Virginia, Kim touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering support.
Kim was a devoted wife to her husband Bob and a proud mother to her two sons, Bobby and Zach. Her love extended to her cherished grandson, Rhys John Penrod, and her daughter-in-law, Lauren. As a mother and grandmother, Kim embraced every moment, whether it was racing Hot Wheels monster trucks with Rhys or baking special cakes for birthday celebrations.
Known for her culinary talents, Kim's kitchen was the heart of her home, filled with the aroma of Joann's Italian bread and her special chocolate chip cookies, which became family favorites. Her warmth and nurturing spirit made her a beloved friend and a second mom to many.
Kim's dedication to her community was evident in her volunteer work at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, where she served as a catechism teacher and contributed to funeral lunches. She also devoted her time as a school lunch mom, ensuring that every child felt special. Professionally, Kim made her mark in the accounting department at Utica Community Schools, where her commitment to excellence was evident.
A proud graduate of James Madison University with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Kim found joy in her family's interests, from hockey and baseball to bodybuilding and healthy living. She was the ultimate hockey mom, passionately supporting her sons in all their athletic endeavors.
Kim cherished the simple pleasures of life, especially visits to the beach, where she found peace in the sound of the waves. Her love for travel brought her family together, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Kim's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and strength that will forever inspire her family and friends.
Funeral Mass Friday, November 8, 2024 at 10AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 280 E. Square Lake Rd., Troy. Visitation begins at 9:30AM.
