Kimberly Lanett Saunders, entered eternal rest on October 2, 2025, at the age of 51. She was born on July 1, 1974, in San Antonio, Texas, to parents Edgar Saunders and Elsa Adell Fontelroy.
Kimberly was the proud mother of three beloved children and the adoring grandmother to five grandchildren, all of whom lovingly called her "GiGi." She was full of life and joy - always ready to dance, laugh, and light up any room she entered. Her favorite color was orange, and she had a deep love for butterflies, symbols of beauty and transformation that reflected her own vibrant spirit.
As the baby of seventeen children, Kimberly was truly one of a kind. She was a natural-born leader - bold, confident, and never shy about "bossing everyone around." Her leadership carried into her professional life, where she most recently served as Office Manager at Essence Preparatory School. She also worked at George Gervin Academy and dedicated 18 years as a manager for Fantastic Sams Salon.
A devoted member of Dedicated Baptist Church, Kimberly loved her church family deeply and served faithfully. Above all else, she cherished her own family - her children, grandchildren, and siblings - who were her greatest joy and purpose.
Kimberly leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving children: LaVonne Holmes, Franco White, and Miyah White; her siblings: Bryon Saunders (Ketha), Sherry Saunders Carmichael, Shelliah Lewis, Frank Saunders (Tanitra), Roslyn Turner, John Saunders (Sheila), Willie Saunders, and Lonnie Saunders (Linda); five adored grandchildren: Dallas Richardson, Brooklyn Roberts, Harlem Roberts, Ra'Naya Meal, and Choyce Garcia; as well as many other loving relatives and dear friends.
Kimberly lived life out loud - joyfully, unapologetically, and with her signature flair. A few of her favorite sayings were "Get Ya Life" and "Ain't No Party Like A Saunders Party," which perfectly captured her energy and love for fun.
Her laughter, strength, and larger-than-life presence will be missed, but her legacy of love, family, and faith will live on forever.
