Kimberly Jo Watters Vanover, age 62 years, 3 months, and 20 days, passed away Friday, November 3, 2023 at her home in Whitley City surrounded by her family and was placed in the care of Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 12:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Honeycutt officiating. Burial was in Angel Pointe Cemetery.
She was born July 14, 1961 in Oneida, Tennessee to Clinton Kidd and Lela Lewis Kidd. Kim had been the Director of McCreary County Senior Citizens for fifteen years before her illness. A job that she excelled at because of her love for helping others. When she wasn't working, Kim enjoyed gardening, crafts, fishing, and was an avid reader. She loved riding through the country but especially loved spending time with her family.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Charles "Tiger" Watters, brothers, Wayne and Mike, and a sister, Ann.
Survivors include her husband, Tim Vanover, sons, Trevor Lawson and Cody Vanover, and Elizabeth Griffis, daughters, Jordi Ball and her husband, John and Samantha Massey, grandchildren, Tyler, Coleman, Conner, Kierra, Logan, Jonah, Nathan, and Coleman, brothers and sisters, Ronnie, Gary and his wife, Kay, Sue, Brenda and her husband, Ernie, and Penny and her husband, Ted, special aunts, Nelda Martin and Carolyn Helbert and a host of family and friends.
Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home was honored to serve the family of Kimberly Watters Vanover.
