Koy’s life began on April 10, 2005, in Lawrence, KS. He was the son of Edwin C and Kristy (Castleberry) Mueller II. Koy was a 2023 graduate of Herington High School and working refurbishing electronic equipment.
He was an avid runner and enjoyed gaming. Koy played chess and could play music by ear. He played the trumpet in high school and was a member of the cross-country team. Koy loved spending time with his family, especially when it came to card games. He also enjoyed spending time playing games and visiting with his “Oma.”
He is survived by his parents Edwin and Kristy of Herington; brothers Griffin Lindsey and Conrad Mueller; maternal grandparents Ben and Kathy Castleberry of Herington and paternal grandparents Ed and Gisela Mueller of Herington; aunts and uncles Kailey (Kyle) Younkin of Florida, Ben (DeAnna) Castleberry of Herington, Katharina (Clay) Bigham of Herington, Melissa Mueller of Herington and Heidi Paugh of Wichita and several cousins and friends.
Koy passed away on July 31, 2024, from injuries sustained in a car accident, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He is preceded in death by his uncle Kyle Castleberry. His family will gather with friends on Friday August 23, 2024, at the Herington Community Center for his Celebration of Life gathering at 1 p.m. Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Herington is serving the family.
