Kurt K Schneider Jr.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Kurt K. Schneider Jr., who peacefully left this world at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
Kurt is survived by his devoted wife of 27 years, Donna Schneider, his daughter, Kaitlyn Schneider who resides in the State of Florida, son, Eric Schneider at home, stepdaughter and husband, Jennifer and Christopher Conklin, and two grandchildren, Zachary and Emily Conklin who reside in Sparrowbush, NY. He is also remembered fondly by his extended family and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his father, Kurt K. Schneider Sr., mother, Cleta Schneider, and stepson, Andrew Olver.
Kurt was a dedicated volunteer fireman of the Wawayanda Volunteer Fire Department, where he served with distinction in many roles which included past Chief, past Commissioner, past financial secretary, and Vice President. He also served as a Parking Enforcement Officer for the Middletown Police Department. His commitment to the community was unwavering and his leadership and service left a lasting impact on the fire company and those he worked with.
Kurt had thirty-seven years of dedicated service to the State of New York as an Electrician. Kurt's career began at Middletown Psychiatric Center and he retired from Mid-Hudson Forensic Psychiatric Center. He contributed greatly to the care and maintenance of these essential facilities.
Kurt had a deep love for tractor pulls and car shows where he found joy in the thrill of the engines and the bonds formed with others who shared his passion. His enthusiasm for these events reflected his vibrant personality and appreciation for craftsmanship.
Kurt took great pride in watching his grandson on and off the football and baseball fields, cheering him on with love and support. He also enjoyed the sassy spirit of his granddaughter, finding joy in her playful energy. His time with them was filled with laughter and unforgettable moments that will be cherished forever.
Kurt will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His kindness, strength, and warmth will remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and the community forever.
Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 10am at the Funeral Home. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements by Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Wawayanda Volunteer Fire Department or Hospice of Orange & Sullivan.
