Kurt V. Weber, Sr. passed away September 25, 2024 in Wichita, KS after a brief illness. Kurt was born in Wichita, KS on February 25, 1956 to the late Beverly June (Ward) and Robert Eugene Weber.
A lifelong resident of Kingman, he served his community as a member of the school board while his children were in school. He also had fond memories of spending time with his grandparents in Great Bend, KS and his uncle, Johnny in Missouri.
Kurt raised walker coon hounds and chocolate labs. He won many hunting and show championships with both.
His love of BBQ led to a food truck and competitions over the last few years.
In October 1978, he married Debra Lecklider. She preceded him in death in 2015.
Survivors include: a son, Kurt Weber, Jr. of Kingman; daughter, Wendie (Simon) Cable of Alexandria, Virginia and grandchildren, Katherine and Jared (Sammie); daughter, Gayle (Shane) Irwin of Scott City and grandchildren, Elizabeth (Nick), Samuel (Cindy) and Jacob.
A private service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers we ask donations be made to Operation BBQ Relief, PO Box 414378 WS #198 Kansas City, MO 64141, https://operationbbqrelief.org.
