Kurt's college education at Indiana State University created a path for almost a 40-year career with both Weyerhaeuser Paper & Wausau Paper companies. As a regional sales manager for both companies, Kurt's wife Vickie (Arch) Wissman whom he married in 1969, son Joseph Wissman (deceased in 2006) and daughter Kelly Wissman now of Jacksonville FL, made several promotional moves to Texas, Georgia, and Florida. After Successfully retiring in 2008 he and Vickie came back to South Bend area and transitioned to parttime "work" and fulltime passion of golf at Erskine Golf Course where he started playing 65 years ago.
His story would not be complete without proudly acknowledging his love of his granddaughter Tori (Catalfo) Reid, who now resides in a suburb of Atlanta GA with her husband Alex Reid and their current four children: Myla, Alex, Frankie Joe and Antonio with twins soon to be born.
Beyond the confines of work and family Kurt enjoyed mentoring all aspects of his golfing passion, his love of Notre Dame, and his dedication and enjoyment of Roxie and all his family's pets.
Palmer Funeral Home – River Park Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.

Vicki, my heart pours out to you and your family. It is a heartbreaking moment but always remember how wonderful a life you had together. All the heartache is worth having that kind of love in your life. He was such a good friend to Jimmy. A wonderful man and we cherished your friendship. God bless you and bring you peace and comfort.
