Obituary published on Legacy.com by Monreal Srnick Funerals & Cremations on Jan. 3, 2026.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kyle John Curtner, 32, of Mayfield Heights, Ohio, who left us far too soon on January 1, 2026. Born on September 13, 1993, to Michelle and Jack Curtner.

Kyle was a police officer with Mentor-on-the-Lake and North Perry. He had an associates degree in criminal justice. He achieved a black belt in Kung Fu. He had a passion for cars, horror movies, body building, and gaming. Kyle was goofy, likeable, caring, and protective. He lit up the room and everyone just loved him. Kyle was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, friend and dedicated police officer, proudly serving his community. His passion for helping others shone brightly in everything he did, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Kyle is survived by his loving wife, Brandy Curtner (Catanese), his parents, Jack and Michelle Curtner, his siblings, Jason Curtner, Krista (Greg) Williams, Eric Casciato, his nieces, Sophia, Gabby, his nephews, Ian and Owen, his in-laws, Tony (Kelly) , Anthony and Jessica Catanese and his beloved dogs, Jack and Daisy.

Kyle was preceded in death by his grandparents, Josephine Zawacki, Mike Mansour and Jack and Edna Curtner.

His kindness, humor, and unwavering support touched the lives of so many. Kyle had a remarkable ability to bring people together and make them feel valued. His legacy of service and compassion will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.

In honor of Kyle's life, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 3-7 PM at Monreal Srnick Funerals & Cremations.

His funeral service will take place on January 8, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Monreal Srnick Funeral & Cremation, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake Ohio 44095. Following the service, Kyle will be laid to rest at Willoughby Memorial Gardens.

As we remember Kyle, let us hold close the moments we shared, the laughter, and the love. His spirit will forever live on in our hearts. We invite all those who knew Kyle to come together in celebration of his life and to support one another during this difficult time.

Kyle was 6 when I met him. His older sister was my childhood best friend. When I started coming around, he´d hide at first then slowly peek out with a shy silly grin.

Over time, he warmed up to me. I cherish memories of the many middle school weekends spent in their home and with their family.

Kyle was sweet, funny, sensitive, and good natured. He liked to be included and he liked to make us laugh. His loss is a tragedy for his family and community. My deepest condolences.

Im sad to hear of the passing of such a great man. I dont have many friends to say I love but I loved Kyle. I will be binge watching all the Halloween movies in honor of my friend. Till the day we are reborn in my heart I will cherish the memory of our friendship.

Kyle was such a genuine, unique and kind person. I will always remember him and the memories we shared years ago. His wife and family are on my mind, and sending strength and love as they navigate this heartbreaking time.
