Kyle Moore Obituary
Kyle C. Moore, 69, of Odin passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Salem Township Hospital. He was born on June 27, 1954, the son of Harold and Mary (Payne) Moore in Fairfield. He married Barbra Jungers on February 23, 2002, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and she survives him in Odin.
Along with his loving wife of 22 years, Barbra Moore, Kyle is survived by his beloved family, his children, Tyler J.R. Moore and wife Ashley of Centralia, Ashley L. Johnson and husband Mark of Centralia, and Matthew Conners and wife Katie of Celina, Texas; his precious grandchildren, Aubrey Moore, Reeve Moore, Olivia Johnson, Isabella Johnson, Eleanor Conners, and Everly Conners; and several special cousins.
Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mary Moore; his brother, Tyler Moore; and his special uncle, John Payne.
Kyle began his career in healthcare administration in 1976. He had a fulfilling and fruitful 40 year career, pioneering long term healthcare to what it is today. His passion for seniors showed daily by providing quality care with a stern demeanor while being a softy at heart. He inspired and empowered others. He was a friend and mentor to many. Mr. Moore was well respected and had a love for his community, a member of both the Lions and the Elks Clubs. He had an amazing ability to fix just about anything and could be found tinkering in his shed for hours on end. Kyle had an awesome sense of humor and smiles, and laughter naturally followed him everywhere he went. Friends and family will always remember how Kyle would sing "Are You Lonesome Tonight", giving Elvis' version a run for its money. He appreciated the company of his "best friend", Baxster, his loyal dog. The love he held in his heart for his family will never be forgotten. His wife, Barbra, his children, and grandchildren brought so much joy and fulfillment to his life, and he lived to love, protect, and entertain them. Kyle's granddaughters will cherish the memories of not being allowed to leave him without a kiss on the cheek. His grandson will carry on the Moore name for him as he always wanted with honor. Kyle loved to answer to the call of Big Papa.
A celebration of life service will be held privately by the family. Memorials may be made in Kyle's honor to the Centralia Humane Society or St. Louis Children's Hospital and will be accepted for the family at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia. Online condolences and memories of Kyle may be shared with the family by visiting www.maczfuneralhomes.com and/or on the funeral home's Facebook page. Kyle was a mentor, teacher, friend. Our world will be a little dimmer without his light but heaven is much brighter. Kyle always took time to teach you about healthcare and your job. I will miss our monthly lunches and keeping up on each others families. One of my memories was sitting in a session at the healthcare convention and Kyle sitting next to me singing "I wanna go home, I wanna go home." Well my friend the Lord heard you. You will always be in our hearts. Barb you and the kids are in our prayers. Thank you for sharing Kyle with us!

Kyle was a true mentor, teacher and friend. Our world will be a little dimmer but heaven will be brighter. Kyle always put on a tough persona but underneath was a old softy. I will miss our monthly lunches and keeping up on life. One of my memories was while we were sitting in a session at the health care convention Kyle was singing. "I wanna go home, I wanna go home" Well my friend the Lord heard you and your home. You will always be in our hearts. Barb you and all the kids are in our prayers.

Such an amazing person. It was difficult to be Kyle´s boss because he was such a jokester. He always kept me on my toes and guessing. More importantly, he took the time to educate me and develop my knowledge in the business. He was patient and encouraging. He´ll be greatly missed.

Words can´t express the loss I feel of losing such a great friend and mentor!! Kyle was one of a kind. I never knew for sure if he was telling me the truth or pulling my leg. That was what made him who he was. He had such a great, sometimes odd sense of humor. No one will ever be able to replace him. I loved him for who he was and what a great man he was in my life. He always had a big bear hug and a kiss on the cheek for me and my husband. He always teased me, that he liked me, but he loved Calvin, my husband.
My condolences go out to Barb and children and their children. My love and prayers will be with you!! I know Kyle is leaving a big hole in your lives!!

We are broken hearted to hear of Kyle's passing. Our deepest sympathies go out to Barb and the children and families.
Kyle will always be remembered for his straightforward talk and his friendship and loyalty.
His sense of humor was different, but we loved it.
Rest in Peace Brother!
