L.C. Gossett Obituary

L.C. was a self-employed individual and the proprietor of Gulf Iron and Metal Co. He was a member of the Shriners Hospital. He relished playing pool with friends and was always open to a friendly bet. He had a knack for knowing people, and if he hadn't met someone, he was eager to do so. L.C. possessed a somewhat restless spirit, preferring to socialize, attend High School Football games, and participate in various sporting events.
He is survived by his devoted daughter, Gail Marie Wehmeyer of Port Lavaca, Texas; son, Gordon Lee "Rusty" Gossett (Linda) of McHenry, Mississippi; sister, Jean Theus of Victoria, Texas; granddaughter, Jennifer Wehmeyer Starns (Cody) of Port Lavaca, Texas; grandson, Michael Gordon Gossett of Seadrift, Texas; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, L.C. was preceded in death by his wife, Isabel Hafernick Gossett; grandson, Christopher Wayne Wehmeyer; son-in-law, Wayne Clayton "Sonny" Wehmeyer, Jr.; sisters, Lorene Barr and Naomi Duncan; and brothers, Edgar
Gossett, Loyd Junior Gossett, Alton Wayne Gossett, and Arvil Ray Gossett.
Family and Friends will gather for a Graveside Service on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at the Port Lavaca Cemetery, 500 Martin Luther King Dr., Port Lavaca.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Starns, Zane Starns, Robert Gossett, Ryan Gossett, and Kyle Gossett.
Memorial donations may be directed to Shriners Hospital for Children.
