Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, January 5, 2024, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for L. J. Patin, 66, who passed away on December 30, 2023, at Ochsner Medical Center New Orleans.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Thursday from 11:00 AM and continue until 2:30 PM Friday.
A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM on Thursday.
Monsignor Russell Harrington will officiate at the Funeral Mass.
Leston was born on March 3, 1957, in Lafayette. L.J. was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering dedication. He had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. L.J. wore his heart on his sleeve and approached every interaction with kindness and empathy. One of L.J.'s greatest joys in life was spending time in Holly Beach. fishing, crabbing, and camping were his favorite pastimes. He also loved spending time with loved ones around the table sharing stories that created bonds that would last a lifetime. L.J. touched countless lives with his warmth and compassion. He impacted everyone who knew him through simple acts of kindness that left an incredible mark on their hearts. L.J.'s remarkable ability to connect with others allowed him to build lifelong friendships.
He is survived by his wife of 2 years, Janet Lee Patin; daughters, Stacey and her husband, Jimmy Lejeune and Neka and her husband, Heath Henson; nieces that he raised, Monica Lake and Lisa Bianchini; sisters, Darlene Lalonde, Rita Caraway, Rena Belaire and Jessica (Paul) Hebert; grandchildren, Jasmine Henson, McKenna Taylor and her fiancé, William Guilbeau, Tanner Taylor and her fiancé, Scott Bourgeois, Sean Henson, Ryder Lejeune and Gavin Lejeune; great-grandchildren, Evelyn Girouard, Decklyn Anderson, Riggin Bourgeois, Kade Bourgeois, Isabella Bourgeois, Sydney Bourgeois, and Kamryn Vallot; step children, Penny Couch and her boyfriend, Jason Pennel, and Shannon Kenast and her boyfriend, Chris Crespo; step-grandchildren, Lexi Johnson and her husband, Cody Johnson, and Nathan Delgado; and step great grandchildren Colton, Walker, and Rolin.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Pam Janice Patin; parents, Leston and Irene Hebert Patin; sister, Scarlet Romero; and his brother-in-law Johnny Lalonde.
Pallbearers will be Heath Henson, Jimmy Lejeune, Sean Henson, Gavin Lejeune, Ryder Lejeune, Paul Hebert, Blaine Williams, and William Guilbeau.
Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Bourgeois and Lyle Williams.
