La Donna Mae Sittman, a devoted wife, and cherished mother and grandmother, passed away on August 29, 2025, in Carmel, Indiana, at the age of 98. Born on December 2, 1926, in Duluth, Minnesota, La Donna lived a life filled with love, family, and rich connections, touching the lives of those around her.

Throughout her life, La Donna took immense pride in her role as a wife, sister and matriarch to a large and wonderful family. She was a mother to seven children, nurturing and guiding them with unwavering strength and love. She is survived by her beloved children: Bill Sittman and wife Darla, Ron Sittman and wife Neysa, Donald Sittman, Doug Sittman and wife Lynn, Debbie Wilson and husband Dean, Peggy Wolfe and husband Morgan. She is also survived by her brother Conrad Yhnell, and wife Sue. La Donna’s legacy will continue to live on through her children and brother who carry with them the values and lessons she imparted throughout her life.

La Donna will forever be remembered for her large family, love of Hawaii and her quick laugh. To say that LaDonna was matriarch to a large family is a vast understatement. In addition to her 7 children, she loved 21 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. As a wife of a career Air Force officer and WWII veteran she moved all over the world. Her absolute favorite place on earth was Hawaii and everything Hawaiian. Her favorite music was the smooth silky sound of Hawaii’s Don Ho. Her children all have the fondest memories of their time growing up on the beaches of Oahu. She loved nothing more than being surrounded by her family dancing, singing and laughing.

La Donna was preceded in death by her husband William L Sittman, her Stepfather Berndt Yhnell, mother Ola Mae Yhnell, oldest daughter Jeanne Sittman, her father Roy J. Bayard and her aunts, who were more like sisters, Elizabeth Green and Kathrynn Dauth. Their love helped shape the remarkable woman she became.

A visitation will be held in her honor on September 4, 2025, starting at 3:00 PM and concluding at 5:00 PM, followed by a memorial service starting at 5:00 PM at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary, located at 11411 N Michigan Rd, Carmel, Indiana.

La Donna Mae Sittman will be remembered for her nurturing spirit, her devotion to her family, and her active involvement in her community. Her memory will forever reside in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
