Lamar F. Fetterman, Jr., 79 of Lewistown, passed away at his home on Thursday, May 8, 2025. He was the loving husband of Kathy L. (Bender) Fetterman for 36 years. Born on October 11, 1945 in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, he was a son to the late Gladys A. (Haupt) and Lamar F. Fetterman, Sr. After graduating from Sunbury High School in 1963, Lamar went on to obtain his Bachelor Degree from Mansfield University. He began working as a teacher for Chief Logan High School and later retired, in 2002, at Indian Valley High School after 35 years. He was a high school track coach, a PA announcer at Mitchell Field, and PIAA Referee for Track and Field. He also taught karate lessons and was a 10th degree Black Belt. Lamar was a bilinguist, speaking fluent Russian. He was a lifetime member of City Hook and Ladder. Lamar is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Valerie Olnick and husband, Todd of Mifflin, Eric Harmon of Lewistown and his partner, David Benfer of Hartleton, and Jody Gill of Lewistown; grandchildren, Ciara Williams and Drake Gill; and sister, LuAnne Dow and husband, Michael of Yorktown, VA. His family meant everything to him and he loved spending time with them, especially his grandchildren. They will miss him dearly. A visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at King-Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown. The memorial service will begin at 6 p.m. with Pastor Ethan Druckenmiller officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N.
