A Celebration of Life for Larae Colbert, will be held Saturday, July 12, 2025, 11:00 AM at MK Dixon Funeral Home, Baldwin, LA.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 9:00 AM until the commencement of the celebration at MK Dixon Funeral Home in Baldwin, LA.
Larae A. Colbert, 43 of New Iberia, LA, passed away July 2, 2025.
Larae was born October 2, 1981, in Lafayette, LA, to James and Jeannie Colbert.
She was a graduate of Jeanerette Senior High School, Class of 2000. She was also a 2024 graduate of Camelot College.
Larae lived a life of love, always smiling, and a joy to be around. A bright light in our family, she leaves behind a memory of love. If you knew her, you knew she was loved.
Larae is survived by her loving sister, Shaberraca Colbert (Troy) of Lafayette LA; one and only nephew, Samir Hypolite; three aunts, Janice Colbert (Roy) of Dallas, TX, Cora Clay of Jeanerette, LA, and Kisha Joe (Barry), of Houston TX; three uncles, Jackie Robertson (Aquilla) of Monroe, LA, Brian Jenkins (Theresa) of Broussard, LA, and Mark Jenkins (LaShonda) also of Broussard, LA; a special cousin, Felicia Williams, of Memphis, TN; a host of cousins, friends, and family.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents; Alice Jack Colbert, and John Colbert; maternal grandparents, Leola Jenkins Joe, and Willie Joe Jr.: two aunts, Doris Charles, and Cheryl Robertson.
