As a good friend of Joe's since high school, Larry (and Theresa) were always very welcoming to me. Looking back, even when i first met them, they never treated me like a friend of their son, but more like an old family friend. Larry always liked a good joke and loved to laugh.
Since Joe and I left the area for college, I was not able to visit Larry and Theresa, but Joe kept me updated. I will miss him.
To the family, You lost a deeply good person. But, he left with a lifetime of love for his legacy.
To Theresa, while a lot of people knew him better than i did, it was very obvious the deep love he held for you. You two have been an excellent example of what a marriage is about. Your life together may have had some bumps, but neither one of you gave up on the other.
I hope you all find comfort in the fact that the sadness and grief you feel is testament to the man Larry was in life. You grieve because of the love you have for his spirit is no longer able to be physically shared, recieved or returned. A hug, kiss, a phrase, a verse or the pluck of his guitar are things that are now memories, but the love he felt for you is not gone.
