Larry Dobbs Sr.

Mr. Larry Frank Dobbs, Sr., age 82, of Tallapoosa, GA, passed away February 24, 2025. He was born September 7, 1942 in Gulfport, Mississippi to the late Curtis Bennett Dobbs and Laudell Watts Dobbs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sylvia Bell; brother, Curt Dobbs; and brother in law, Raymond Ballew; and grandchild, Brentley Mann.
Larry worked as an HVAC technician in construction for many years. He loved serving and helping people however he could. He was a NASCAR enthusiast and a devoted member of Mt. Zion East Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughters and sons in law, Renee and Reggie LaDue, of Sebring, FL and Michelle and Donald Locklear, of Buchanan, GA; sons and daughter in law, Larry and Marie Dobbs, Jr., of Fruithurst, AL and Daniel Dobbs, of Carrollton, GA; grandchildren, Regina Murray, Kevin LaDue, Katie LaDue, Cody Williamson, Trey Yarbrough, Krista Mann, and Casey Allen; six great grandchildren; and sisters and brother in law, Naomi Dobbs-Bell and William Bell, of Tallapoosa, Sharon Ballew, of Tallapoosa, and Marilyn Tracy, of Newnan, GA.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 2:00PM at Mt. Zion East Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Kenny Teal officiating. A eulogy will be given by Renee LaDue. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be Kevin LaDue, Casey Allen, Brad Hughes, Caden Hughes, Bruce Kirkland, and Norman Sadler. Interment will follow in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church Thursday from 1:00PM until the funeral hour.
