Kinder-Celebration of Life services honoring Larry Dwain Duplechian, 70, will be held at 11 o'clock a.m. on Saturday morning, November 16, 2024, at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder. Rev. Terry Bushnell will officiate. Larry will be laid to rest at Green Oak Cemetery in Kinder immediately following his services.
Larry's family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder on Friday evening, November 15, 2024, from 4-8 o'clock p.m. Larry's visitation will resume at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder on Saturday morning, November 16, 2024, from 8 o'clock a.m. until time of service. All of Larry's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder.
Larry was a loving husband to Patsy Jean Duplechian and stepfather to Tina, Terry, Darrell, and Tony Chapman since the early 1990's. He was easy to laugh with and joke on; never one to miss an opportunity to work. Larry liked to be outdoors whether fishing in the river or hunting squirrels or rabbits in the back pasture. You could always find Larry working on something in the yard or cleaning around the house. Besides his abilities for work, he loved to cook. Larry loved to cook for anyone that came to visit. If someone came to call, you could almost count on eating a meal with Pop. He was not shy to add seasoning to his roux and tell you to get a bigger drink if it was a little spicy. His friends liked to visit often and trade stories. In retirement Larry liked to cut his grass more often than was required and he took care of his wife Patsy until her passing in 2017. Afterwards he found his Harley Davidson Fatboy and discovered his passion for the road. Forty years sandblasting and painting on Shell platforms and countless others left him longing for the wide-open road and he had a few long rides under his leathers. Now as we bid farewell to "Pop-Pop" for his final ride home, we want to pray that angels guide the way, and the light of Jesus Christ will be his beacon; beckoning him to Glory.
Those left to cherish Larry's memory include three stepsons, Darrell Chapman and wife Ashley of Lake Charles, LA, Tony Chapman of Ragley, LA, and Terry Chapman II of Lake Charles, LA, one stepdaughter, Tina Chapman of Sulphur, LA; thirteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren; and a host of numerous extended family members and friends.
Larry is preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Jean Duplechian; his parents, Alcide and Margaret Duplechian; one grandson, Corinthian Trey L'Heureux; and his mother-in-law, Bernice Hall.
Condolences and words of comfort may be shared with Larry's family at www.ardoinfuneralhome.com or on Facebook at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
