Larry Godfrey

HULL- Larry Godfrey passed away peacefully surrounded by his immediate family on September 27, 2024, at age 62 after a long battle with cancer. He was born February 26, 1962, to the late parents Douglas and Shirley Godfrey of Hanson where he lived throughout his childhood.
Larry graduated from Whitman-Hanson Regional High School in 1980. He attended Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston where he was certified as a service technician. He traveled throughout the east coast servicing many forms of technical equipment and had the opportunity to relocate briefly to California for additional specialized training.
Larry excelled in playing sports throughout his childhood, and particularly loved starring as pitcher and catcher for the Hanson baseball team. He also played left wing for the Whitman Hanson Panthers. His greatest passion was spending time in the sun and sand which led him to his lifetime dream of owning ocean front property on Nantasket Beach where he also opened and operated his own photo lab. He enjoyed most of his peaceful times watching the tides change or was often found poolside with his friends from Ocean Place. Larry also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends who he loved dearly and was always the life of the party.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by Stephen Godfrey, Susan and James Cousens, Shelley and Richard Jefferson, John Godfrey, nieces and nephews Amanda St. Pierre and husband William, Nicholas Cousens, Allison McGauran and her husband William, Jessica Godfrey and John Godfrey Jr. in addition to his great niece and nephews.
Services will be held at Sullivan Funeral Home, 2 Maquan St. Corner Route 14 & 58, Hanson on Oct 5, 2024, 1:00 to 4:00 PM, followed by a funeral home service at 4:00 PM.
