Ross, Marilyn M. (Marzilli) Age 70, of Woodbridge VA, formerly of Cumberland, RI; Belmont, MA; and Whitman, MA passed away July 9, 2025.
She was a lifelong musician, performing frequently as a soprano soloist and also with several organizations, such as the Back Bay Chorale, Choro Allegro, the Rhode Island Civic Chorale, and the choirs of All Saints Episcopal Church in Belmont, MA, and St. John's Episcopal Church in Cumberland, RI. She was also a dedicated mentor, working lifelong with the Girl Scouts to help generations of girls to become strong adults, and co-founded a Girl Scout chorus during her years in Cumberland.
Marilyn was a 1972 graduate of Whitman-Hanson Regional High school and a 1999 graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. She also studied at Massasoit Community College and Bridgewater State University.
She was preceded in death by husband Peter, brother Joseph (Jay), sister Donna, and parents Elaine and Thomas.
She is survived by daughter Katherine, son-in-law Matthew, and grandchildren Miranda and Ethan, all of Virginia, and sisters Anita and Paula, both of Pennsylvania.
A graveside service will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery in West Bridgewater on Saturday, July 26 at 10am, a musical celebration of life will follow later this year.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England, the Metropolitan Wind Symphony of Boston, or any local music education program in your community that serves the next generation of musicians.
