A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Larry Guillory, 83, of Ville Platte at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church followed by Entombment at Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
Larry Guillory, a beloved husband, cherished community member, and esteemed floral shop owner, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on September 1, 1942, to the late Basile and Nita Fontenot Guillory. Larry was a proud graduate of Sacred Heart High School and a dedicated member of the Sacred Heart Alumni Association. While in high school he participated in a variety of sports including baseball, football and boxing. Larry was a member of Lafayette Lanes Men’s Bowling League. He was also an avid runner, having participated in numerous marathons.
On his 20th birthday, Larry married the love of his life, Mae Dell Dupre Guillory. Their union was marked by unwavering love and mutual support, a bond that brightened the lives of those around them. Larry and Mae shared countless memories together, and their devotion to each other served as an inspiring example of partnership and commitment.
Upon retirement from American Tabacco Company, Larry joined his wife working alongside her in her business, Mae’s Flower Shop. Together their contributions to the floral industry through the flower shop were a testament to their creativity and eye for beauty, bringing joy to many families and special occasions within the community.
Larry is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mae Dell Dupre Guillory of Ville Platte; son, Joey Guillory and his wife Diane Pulver Guillory of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Trent Ortego, Maddison Guillory, Sadie Guillory, and Jackson Guillory; great-grandchildren, Heidi Ortego and Alina Ortego.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Christina Guillory Ortego.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 – 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 13, 2025 with a Rosary being recited at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
Services have been entrusted to Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte.
