Larry was born on December 15, 1943, in Beloit, Wisconsin, the son of Lester C. and Opal Rose (Harding) Hiter. Larry grew and attended schools in Beloit. On April 6, 1984, Larry Married the former Linda Rae Duncan in Janesville, Wisconsin.
Larry was employed for many years as a fork lift operator at Alcoa in Beloit, Wisconsin before retiring in 2004. He was previously employed for several years at Durst in Shopiere, Wisconsin. Larry was an easy going man who enjoyed playing card games like pinochle, poker, and euchre. He also enjoyed trying his luck on slot machines at the casino. Mostly though, Larry loved sending time with his children and grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Tracy Carr, Kim (Scott) Pike, Kathy Deremo-Benton, and Jody Ward; grandchildren, Sierra Lervik, Chasity Pike, Chrisna (Jay) Rathbun, Tori Carr, Trevor Carr, Caitlyn Deremo, Amanden Deremo, and Bo Humphrey; six great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Robin (Mike) Theiring, Barbara Kenny, and Kay (Herbert) Graham; along with numerous other relatives and his friends at the Scoville Center. He was preceded in death by his mother, Opal Russell; father, Lester Hiter; and a sister, Marcia Link.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Hansen-Gravitt Funeral Home, 424 Prospect, Beloit, Wisconsin 53511 is honored to be assisting the family. Online condolences can be shared at www.hansengravitt.com
