After 87 years of a wonderful adventure, Larry Jerome McIntire traveled one last time to be with his Lord on July 22, 2025. Larry was born in Pike County, Indiana to Uthie & Helen McIntire on November 26,1937. He joined the Airforce after he graduated from Boonville High School in 1955 and was stationed in France and Germany. He lived in numerous states and traveled to all fifty, and several countries, with his wife of 58 years, Gaynell. Larry loved camping, playing marbles, and spending time with his family and friends.
He was a member of several organizations throughout his lifetime, Newburgh Jaycees, Newburgh Moose, Boonville Elks, American Legion, Am Vets, and L.A. Sportsman's Club.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; his siblings, Barbara Raley and John McIntire; his brother -in- law Don "Poodle" Pemberton, and his great grandson Alexander Lilley.
Larry is survived by his sons, Rick McIntire (Dyana), Robert McIntire, and Brent McIntire (Nancy); grandchildren, Bryan McIntire (Harla), Destiny McIntire, Brandon McIntire (Joseyline), and Matthew McIntire; great grandchildren, Levi Richardson, Faith Richardson (Levi Kyburz), Andrew Lilley, Neal Bealmear (Rylie), Connor McIntire, Jason McIntire, Gwyneth McIntire, and Nova McIntire; great, great grandchildren, Jewell, Berkleigh, Kenneth, and Sawyer; sister-in-law "Sweetie" Carolyn Pemberton.
The family would like to thank the staff of Woodmont Health Campus for the unconditional love, excellent care, and encouragement these last few years and to Gentiva Hospice for their support and wonderful staff during Larry's final days.
"Larry Mac" will be honored by family and friends at Lynnville Park Campground from 12-4 p.m. on August 30th. Please come join us, grab some food, sit a spell, and share a story in honor of a life well lived!
