Larry D. Redifer, 74 of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away at home on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. He was born May 5, 1950 in Crawfordsville, Indiana to Delmar Roy "DR" and Earlene Richey Redifer. On June 6, 1970 he married Elizabeth Jane Meeks and she precedes him in death. He graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1970. He spent the next 31 years working as an Engine Assembler for Cummins in Columbus, Seymour, Madison and Walesboro, retiring in 2002. He then worked for Scott County Schools and Scott Memorial Hospital before his final retirement. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Elizabeth "Janie" Redifer, three brothers, Marvin, Buzz and Bill Redifer, half-brother, Ray Redifer, granddaughter, Ashley Langdon and great-grandson, Colton Langdon. Surviving to cherish his memories are his daughters, Lori (Brent) Booth of Austin and Beth Robison of Scottsburg, his sister, Ruth Ann Sichting of Franklin, Indiana, three grandchildren, Brandon (Jessie) Langdon, Alex and Ethan Robison, his great-granddaughter, Tessa Langdon and longtime family friend, Kelly Shelhamer.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Larry's nephew, Pastor Dan McDonald officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service Sunday, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Collins Funeral Home. Concluding services and interment will be in the Zoah Christian Church Cemetery.
