Larry Allan Riggs, 75, of Canton, Pennsylvania, passed away early Saturday morning, August 16, 2025, in Towanda, Pennsylvania, after a short battle with cancer.
Born on August 19, 1949, in Sayre, Pennsylvania, Larry was the son of William and Anne Marie Riggs and the eldest of nine brothers and sisters.

Larry attended Canton High School, where he excelled in many sports, including basketball. His athletic talent and determination carried him to college, where he continued to play basketball and pursue his education.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970, completing a tour in Vietnam. For his service and dedication, he was awarded a number of medals, including the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, as well as the Vietnam Service Medal with two overseas bars.

After returning home, Larry devoted over fifty-five years to residential and commercial construction and building. His skills ranged from carpentry and roofing to electrical work and beyond, and he took great pride in every project he undertook. Outside of his profession, Larry was a passionate fisherman who found peace on the water and joy in the outdoors.

Larry is survived by his children Leah Riggs Capra (Lucas) and Nathan Riggs (Anne), along with his grandchildren Roman and August Capra and Sabine and Macklin Riggs. He is also survived by his mother, Anne Marie Riggs (Landon), his brothers and sisters Mary Ann Gorman, Linda Miller, Stephen Riggs, John Riggs, Christine Andrewlavage, William Riggs Jr, and Susan Zohner along with their spouses, children and grandchildren, and his former wife Terri Riggs.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Riggs and his brother, James Riggs.

A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Pepper Funeral Home and Cremation Facility, 578 Springbrook Drive in Canton. There will be no calling hours.
