Larry Dean Rogers

On this day, we honor and celebrate the life of Larry Dean Rogers, a beloved father and friend. Larry was born on March 14, 1945, in Haywood County and sadly left us on Monday, September 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 80.

Larry dedicated over 30 years to the construction industry as a skilled pipe fitter. Beyond his profession, he was a proud cattle farmer; he spent countless hours at the stockyards with his fellow farmers. His great love for the land and his mountain home extended to his garden, which he tended with care and graciously shared with neighbors and friends – they were always told, "Take whatever you want" by Larry. His kindness was a blessing to others.

Larry loved his family, and he treasured every moment spent together, having cookouts, playing kickball and horseshoes, and simply just being together.

Though Larry has left us, his spirit lives on in the lessons he taught us and the love he shared. His legacy is one of resilience, kindness, and unyielding love. We will each carry his memory in our hearts forever, grateful for the time we had with him and the profound impact he made in our lives.

Rest in peace, dear Larry, you will be deeply missed.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Geneva Rogers Talley, and a sister, Wanda McMahan.

Surviving are his loving wife of 45 years, Marie Rogers; his daughters, Regina Braswell and Debbie Nelson, and a step-daughter, Sabrina Mathias; his grandchildren, Christina Braswell, Nathan Braswell, Elizabeth King, Brittney King, and Erica Mathias, and 19 great-grandchildren, 3 of which Larry raised, Hayden and Jayden Braswell Morris and Sofeinah Braswell Holt.

A service of remembrance will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, October 9, 2025, in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
