Colonel Larry Lee Sutton (US ARMY RETIRED), 95 of East Windsor, died on Friday, January 9, 2026 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Williamstown, West Virginia, he was raised in Marietta, Ohio. Larry graduated from Marietta High School and enlisted in the United States Navy upon his graduation. He received his bachelor's degree from University of Hawaii and later went on to receive his MBA from University of Notre Dame.
Larry served his country with pride for over 35 years in three branches of the military: Navy, Air Force, and Army. He served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After his retirement from the United States Military, he went on to begin his second career as a Senior Subcontract Administrator for Princeton University working until the age of 87.
Son of the late Carl Elmer and Mildred (Duvall) Sutton, step son of the late Pauline Elizabeth (Phillips) Sutton, husband of the late Mary Etta (Smith) Sutton, father of the late James L. Sutton, Timothy A. Sutton, brother of the late Barry Sutton, Carla Harris, he is survived by his children and their spouse Nancy L. Williams, Michael J. and Heather Sutton, Stephanie E. Sutton, Thomas J. and Ariel Sutton, daughter in law Susie Hannon, brothers and sisters Fred Sutton, Bethany Williams, Sharon Schneider, Cathy Baker, Donna Pugh and many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Larry will be interred in Arlington National Cemetery along with his late wife Mary Etta.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, Princeton.
