Larry A. VanZile

Larry A. VanZile, age 70 of Addison, NY, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024 at Fred and Harriett Taylor Health Center in Bath with his family at his side. Born on November 23, 1953 in Corning, NY, he was the son of the late Franklin VanZile and Marjorie (Jones) Everets.
Larry was a graduate of Corning East High School, class of 1973 and later attended Corning Community College where he received his Associates Degree. Larry began working as a process technician for Corning, Inc in 1973. He took great pride in his job and retired in 2013 with 30 years of service.
Larry will be remembered for his love of the outdoors and hunting and fishing. He was an avid gardener - tending to his flowers and vegetables when his children were younger. He and his family took many trips to various states along the east coast to camp and see the sites. He was a fan of the NY Yankees and Buffalo Bills and loved his country 'cruises'. If you couldn't find Larry at home, he was likely out driving the dirt roads, enjoying the country hills. Larry never met a stranger. He was known to enjoy telling stories and teach anyone willing to learn about his favorite hobbies.
Larry is survived by his children: Jennifer (James Rowe) Owens of Addison, NY, Ben VanZile of Bath, NY; step children: Matthew (Jennifer) Brown, Becky (Randy) Baker; grandchildren: Cody and Haleigh Owens, Charlee Rowe, Hunter and Petra Vanzile, Alex Price and Cierra Smith, Trista Brown; great grandchildren: Oliver and Aurora Owens; siblings: Henry (Linda) VanZile of VT, Connie Greenfield of Dundee, NY; sisters-in-law; Joyce VanZile, Susie VanZile; several nieces and nephews; and best friend, Eddie Hale.
In addition to his parents, Larry was predeceased by his siblings: Wesley (Pat) VanZile, Eugene (Marlene) VanZile, Robert (Theresa) VanZile, Benjamin VanZile, Clifford VanZile, Delores (Richard) Barlow, Mary (Ron) Vandermark; and brother-in-law, Kent Greenfield.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Monday, April 1, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Flint Funeral Home, 10 Wall St., Addison, NY. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral Home at 5:00 pm, Celebrant Barb Rossi officiating.
