Lasonia Renea McClenton was born July 25, 1974 to J.D. and Fannie (Booker) Poindexter in Hope, Hempstead County, Arkansas. She was a member of the first Baptist Church. She graduated from Columbia Southern University with a degree in Applied Science in Business and accepted a position at the U.S. Army Civilian Personnel Advisory Center, where she worked for 20-plus years.
Lasonia was blessed with a caring and loving family. She married her best friend Joseph McClenton on January 4, 1994, in Hope, Arkansas. Lasonia showered her children Dontay Poindexter and Tamara McClenton with affection and raised them with kindness, and discipline, and humility.
She was preceded in death by her father J.D. Poindexter. Lasonia departed her life on March 13, 2023, San Antonio, TX at home surrounded by her family.
Lasonia leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Joseph McClenton of San Antonio, TX; two children, Dontay Pointexter and Tamara McClenton of San Antonio, TX; mother Fannie Poindexter of Washington, Arkansas; brother James Earl and Andretta (Tab) Poindexter of Washington, Arkansas. Host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
