LaTonya Marie Armstead was born April 10, 1977 to Wendy
M. Armstead Hollings and Felix Howell in Mobile, AL. She
departed this life on Saturday, August 30, 2025.
LaTonya attended Murphy High School. She worked in the
restaurant hospitality industry for over twenty years of dedicated
service. She was a dedicated employee at Walmart (Rangeline
Store #866).
LaTonya enjoyed spending time with family and friends,
especially, with her three amazing sons and two puppies.
LaTonya could light up any room with her beauty, smile, and fun
personality. She will truly be missed.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandfather, John
Culpepper; grandmothers: Ruth C. King and Janie Howell;
grandfathers: Robert Armstead, Sr. and Robert Howell; uncle
and aunt, Fred (Cornelia) Culpepper; stepfather, Rufus C.
Hollings, Jr.; nephew, Leonardo D. English, Jr.; and stepgrandfather, James W. King.
LaTonya leaves to cherish her legacy and precious memories to
her mother, Wendy M. Armstead Hollings of Mobile, AL; father,
Felix (Karen) Howell of Mobile, AL; three devoted sons: Jamel
Armstead, Jamal Armstead, and J'Varyus Hill all of Mobile, AL;
sister, LaQuita (Leonardo) English of Houston, TX; stepsister,
Idaleisha Draine of Mobile, AL; brother, Antonio (Andrea)
Howell, Sr. of Mobile, AL; aunt, Cassandra (Stacey) Boykin of
Mobile, AL; uncles: Robert Armstead, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, John
(Melissa) King and Reuben (Taneca) King both of Mobile, AL,
Sr.; nieces: MyLishia English of San Antonio, TX and Andrianna Howell of Mobile, AL;
nephews: La'Kendric English of Houston, TX and Antonio Howell, Jr. of Atlanta, GA;
godchildren: Keaton Ruggs and Mike Green both of Mobile, AL;
and a host of cousins, three devoted: Carletta Sank, Jacqulyn
Dunklin, and Angelique Dixon all of Mobile, AL; and a host of
other relatives and friends; devoted friends: Esther Williams,
Larkisha Winbush, Jahquetta Johnson, Tammy Davis, Necole
