Laura Amesse, 67 passed away unexpectedly in her home in Poughkeepsie on April 19th 2025. She was born June 22nd 1957 in Poughkeepsie, New york. She attended school in the Wappingers district and went on to get certifications in several different professions, the last being a dental assistant. With her love for helping others and her passion for animals, she did volunteer work as a peer advocate at MHA and at the SPCA. She loved listening to music, dancing, watching the newest star wars series, and had a love for crafting. She did various craft fairs where she sold her flower arrangements, shadow boxes and homemade chocolates. She leaves behind her Father Ralph Plass and wife Viola. Her son, Elijah Montalvo, his sons Elijah and Matthew. Her daughter Faith Ruiz-Guido, her husband MIchael Guido and their children LIliana, Julian and Gabriella. Her sister Sheri, her spouse and children. She is predeceased by her husband Nemesio Ruiz, their baby Nemesio Jr, mother Laura Plass, her biological father Malcolm Cooney and her recently deceased son Antonio Montalvo. In lieu of flowers we ask for donations for the Hyde Park spca. Her celebration of life will take place at the knights of Columbus located at 1278 route 9g in Hyde Park, NY with the service starting promptly at 3:00 pm.
