Donna M. Horvat

Donna M. Horvat (née Mondello), age 77, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025, in Poughkeepsie, New York. Born on December 27, 1947, in Yonkers, New York, she was the daughter of Ralph and Marie Yager Mondello.Donna spent most of her life as a cherished member of the Poughkeepsie community.On April 26, 1969, at Holy Trinity Church Poughkeepsie Donna married John G. Horvat. A proud alumna of Poughkeepsie High School and KrisslerBusiness School, Donna dedicated her professional life to human resources, serving as an HR Recruiter at Abilities First and the CIA. Known for her compassionate and professional demeanor, she left a lasting impact on her colleagues and those she recruited. Donna was a devout member of St. Martin DePorres Church and enjoyed bowling in her younger years. Her vibrant presence and infectious enthusiasm for life enriched the lives of all who knew her. Donna is survived by her loving husband, John G. Horvat; son and daughter-in-law, John and Jessica Horvat; daughter, Lisa Horvat; grandchildren Christina, Chris, April, Aidan, brother Ralph Mondello, niece Kristina Mondello, sister-in-law, Janet Horvat; cousin, Sara Koshofer and numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews and good friend, Karen Simon. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit. Services will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 11 am to 12 pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York. Funeral Services will follow at 12pm. Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery Poughkeepsie, New York. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hudson Valley Hospice at 374 Violet Ave., Poughkeepsie, New York, in memory of Donna.
