Laura Drake Obituary
Laura C. “Bessie” Drake, 76, widow of Hugh Darrow Drake, Jr. passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
She is survived by her son, Wesley D. Drake (Gretchen); two daughters, Anita Colby (Jeff) and Tracy Drake; five grandchildren, Erik Alford, Zachary Goodwyn, Amber Colby – Smith (Brian), Dylan Drake (Taylor Ingram) and Tess Mueller (Coleman); two great-grandchildren, Marina Mueller and Emily Drake; sisters, Nancy Dudley (Mark) and Mildred Moore; brother, Joe Cannon, Jr. (Dorothy) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 31 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Virginia where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Maitland Family Cemetery.
