Laura Goodwin Obituary
Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 2, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Laura Goodwin, 83, who passed away September 28, 2023 at her residence. Pastor Weldon Moak of First Baptist Church in Broussard will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 2, 2023 between 8:00 am - 2:00 pm at Walters Funeral Home.
Survivors include her seven children, Tammy, Eddie, Ricky, Craig, Patrick, Benjamin, and Christopher Goodwin; two sisters, Velma Dubois and Brenda Primeaux; one brother, Daniel Gaspard; fifteen grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larance Edward Goodwin; parents, Ednes and Paul Gaspard; granddaughter, Jessica Vallot; great-grandson, Liam Goodwin; two brothers; and six sisters.
Laura was a native of Meaux, longtime resident of Lafayette, and resided in Opelousas for the past 15 years.
Pallbearers will be her children. Honorary pallbearers include Shalon Bourque and Dawson Stelly-Goodwin.
Special thanks are given to her granddaughters Alison and Madison Goodwin, and daughter-in-law, Kimberly Goodwin.
