LEFLORE, Mrs. Laura Ann, age 83, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025, at her residence. Family hour 10:00AM Monday, July 28, 2025, at, Quinn Chapel AME Church., 2101 Lippincott Blvd,
Flint, MI 48503., Delta Service will start at 10:00AM, with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Rev. Andra Johnson, officiating. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Monday. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd, Holly, MI. Mrs. Leflore will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home,906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Mrs. Laura Ann Rogers LeFlore, affectionately known as Lara to her family and close friends, passed away on July 20, 2025. Laura Ann was born in Ponca City Oklahoma on November 8, 1941, to Father Ervin Curtis (Chick) Rogers and Mother Mattie Amanda Coleman Rogers. After the unfortunate death of her Father, as a young toddler, Laura, and two of her siblings, older Brother Wylie and younger Sister Nancy, moved with their Mother to join family in Flint MI. Laura Ann was a very loving and devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Cousin, Soror and Friend, who always had a great big smile on her face and was filled with compassion and empathy for others. In fact, God created Laura to be a peacemaker and she wore this calling like a badge of honor! The Book of Matthew 5:9 states, Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God! Laura Ann truly was a blessing, she Loved the Lord and it was evident in how she handled God's people! Laura Ann attended Clark/Hazelton Elementary Schools, Whittier Junior High School, Central/Montrose High Schools graduating in 1954. Laura furthered her education by enrolling in Flint Community College, known today as Mott Community College, Lincoln University in Jefferson City Missouri, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, and a Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling. She continued her education at Wayne State University and was just 4 credits shy of earning a Masters Degree as a Specialist in Administrative Leadership. Laura most definitely was a LIfe Learn Learner, pouring into many students as a Teacher in the Flint Public Schools for 43 Years! As an educator in the Flint district she became a Professional Development Chairperson, a very active member in the teachers union, serving as a Building Representative for many years, and was a delegate for the Michigan Educational Convention! Laura believed that teaching was her gift from God and she strived everyday to do her absolute best to make a difference in the life of every student that she was graced to reach out and touch! Laura Ann, was a dedicated member of Quinn Chapel AME Church. Throughout her many years as a member at Quinn Chapel, Laura served as a member of the Turner Missionary Society, a faithful Stewardess, a past president of the Lay Organization, a Sunday school teacher, a summer vocation teacher and Laura also served as the church and kitchen ministry secretary. Laura Ann's personal time was spent reading, doing ceramics, pottery, and cooking holiday meals for her family and many friends. Laura because of her compassionate, loving and caring ways, had a heart to share and give. Her positive attributes were on display daily in her life and she made sure it was felt in the life of everyone who was fortunate enough to grace her presence! Laura Ann leaves to cherish with beautiful memories her precious possession, her children, Todd LeFlore, Carmen LeFlore, Miguel LeFlore, and Casey (Kaymeeca) LeFlore. Brothers, Dr. Wylie (Leah) Rogers, Jesse Stoudamire lll, Robert Matt Stoudamire and George Stoudamire, Sisters, Brenda Kilgore, Julia Bolden, and Cynthia Stoudamire. Grandchildren, Dominique Chaney, Jamarquez Nickelson, Jamarion LeFlore, Jamari'a Hathorn, Elijah Rowsey, Keyonte LaFlore, Zion LeFlore and Bless LeFlore, Great Granddaughter Loyaltee Nickelson. and Ava LeFlore, Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends including dear and devoted close friends Thelma Jenkins, Betty and Jimmy Collins. Laura Ann Rogers Leflore, was preceded in death by her Mother Mattie Amanda Coleman Rogers Stoudamire, Father Ervin Curtis Rogers, Stepfather Jesse Stoudamire, Sisters, Nancy Fisher, Faye Stoudamire, and Jennifer Stoudamire, brother Gerald Stoudamire, Nephews William (Billy) Rogers, Troy Fisher Jr., Niece Mia Stoudamire and many close In-Laws and Friends, including her favorite Aunt and Running Buddy, Aunt Geraldine Coleman Hughey.
