Laura Rose Maslanka

Laura Rose Maslanka, age 46, originally from Wickliffe and most recently from Chicago, passed away on November 20, 2025.

Laura lived a life of extraordinary commitment, balancing immense personal achievements with a profound love for her family. She was a woman who moved through the world with purpose, both physical and spiritual.

An avid and dedicated runner, Laura achieved the prestigious goal of completing the 6 Star World Marathon Majors: races in Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, and New York City. She combined this physical discipline with a commitment to internal peace, finding solace and joy in meditation and spirituality. Laura also deeply loved the outdoors, enjoying regular walks along the lake with her beloved dog, Henry, whom she has now rejoined at the Rainbow Bridge.

Above all, Laura was dedicated to her family and friends. She loved gathering with them, whether for holiday celebrations or family running racing events, always immensely enjoying the time spent planning and sharing moments with her loved ones.

Laura is survived by her loving partner of 15 years, Michael Connelly, and her devoted mother, Doris (née Yurglic) Maslanka. She was a cherished sister to Donnie (Jane) Maslanka, Maria (Steve) Webster, Tom (Ketisu) Maslanka, Tina Zebkar, Sue (Scott) Urbas, Wendy Maslanka, Paul Maslanka, Phyllis (Brett) Wolever, and Joe (Barbara) Maslanka. She also leaves behind a host of adored nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald L. Maslanka, and her brother-in-law, Scott Zebkar.

Visitation Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Monreal Srnick Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd, Eastlake.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 29850 Euclid Ave, Wickliffe, OH 44092. Burial will be private at a later date.
