Laura Nissen Obituary
Publish in a newspaper
on August 9, 2025, in Tom's River, NJ. Laura was the beloved daughter of Svend and Helen
Nissen. Helen was her devoted mother and most dedicated advocate. The Nissen family
wishes to sincerely thank all who enriched Laura's life and assisted with her disability
needs through the years, especially the volunteers who helped with early patterning
therapy, our friends and family, Disability Services and Advocacy, LLC, and the staff at
Miller and Stratford Group Home with ARC of Ocean County who provided a safe and
nurturing home for Laura for more than 30 years. Laura is survived by her mother, Helen
Nissen and brother, Rick Nissen (Lynn) and extended family. She is predeceased by her
father, Svend Nissen, "Sweeney" and her brother Svend Nissen, "Butch". The memorial will
be private. Donations may be made to ARC of Ocean County in Laura's memory.
