Laurel Dokter

Laurel Dokter, age 77, of Holland, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 9, 2024.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Laurel's heart overflowed with pride for her grandchildren. Amongst the many memories with Laurel, the cherished summers spent at the cottage on Upper Silver Lake, will be forever etched in their hearts.
Laurel possessed a rare wisdom, was a master at Dutch Bingo, and loved to play board games with her family. She always enjoyed a good book, as well as attending theater, plays, and concerts. She treasured conversation around the dinner table with her family and many groups of friends whom she held dear. A devout Christian, Laurel's faith anchored her journey and sustained her through life's unexpected joys and trials.
Laurel dedicated her life to nursing, graduating in 1968 and remaining a licensed caregiver until her last breath. Her compassionate spirit touched countless lives, offering comfort and healing throughout her career.
Laurel is survived by her sons: Todd and Sheila Dokter, Ryan Dokter; daughter-in-law, Julie Dokter; grandchildren: Kailey Dokter, Zach Dokter, Kelsey Dokter, Jillian Dokter, Gentille and Sammy Dokter-Patrick, Alaina Dokter, Wynn Dokter, and Waverly Dokter; in-laws: Tim Dokter and Joyce Clark, Chuck and Jan Dokter; as well as many extended family and dear friends.
Laurel was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Randall Dokter in 2018, as well as her son Troy Dokter in 2019.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on June 17, 2024, at Harderwyk Ministries, 1627 West Lakewood Blvd. Holland, MI 49424. Visitation before the service will begin at 12:30 pm.
