Lawrence Becker Obituary

Lawrence was born in Glen Cove, NY, the son of the late Ann (nee Watts) and Jacob Becker.
Lawrence had been a Catholic priest for many years after his ordination in 1958, as well as an employee and advocate of Catholic Charities. Lawrence was a kind, generous and witty soul with a contagious laugh. He dedicated his life to helping the needy and held a strong belief in education as a means of advancement.
After fulfilling his calling to the priesthood, Lawrence left his role as a priest and met and married his late wife Grace (nee Dodge) in the Bronx. Later, he spent many years in Manhattan enjoying the companionship of his partner and soulmate, the late Maryann Downing.
Lawrence is survived by his dear sister Gertrude Becker of Las Vegas, NV, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services are private.
