Lawrence Richard Claycamp, age 81, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025, at Autumn Trace Assisted Living in Seymour.
Born on July 22, 1943 in Bartholomew County, Indiana, Lawrence was the son of the late Raymond and Mable (Kobbe) Claycamp.
He was a 1961 Graduate of Columbus High School, and after graduation, he proudly served in the National Guard, reflecting his quiet sense of duty and patriotism.
On October 1, 2000, Lawrence married the love of his life, Sue Ann Claycamp. Together, they shared 24 years of companionship, joy, and the blessings of a blended family. He was a proud father to his sons and stepsons, and he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren, creating memories that will live on for generations.
Lawrence was a dedicated farmer, and also worked at Arvin Industries, where he later retired after many years of service. He was a longtime member of the White Creek Conservation Club, where he enjoyed friendship, fellowship, and a shared love of the outdoors.
Lawrence is survived by his sons, Steve (Donita) Claycamp, Gary (Stacy) Claycamp, and John (Amellia) Claycamp; stepsons, Jeff (Melanie) Klakamp and Chris (Amanda) Klakamp; brothers, Don (Wilma) Claycamp and Larry (Janice) Claycamp; 8 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He his preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sue; brothers, Dean Claycamp and his wife, Clara; and infant twin brothers, Jerry and Terry.
Funeral services for Lawrence will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour with Rev. Dr. Ralph Blomenberg, Rev. Philip Bloch, and Rev. James Rodriguez officiating. Friends and family may call on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Voss and Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 316 North Chestnut Street, Seymour, and again on Saturday June 7 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at White Creek Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Lawrence's memory to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour, or White Creek Lutheran Church in Columbus.
